Cascadia names a unique area that meanders between inner passage islands and mountains along the coast of Oregon northward into British Columbia. But Cascadia describes far more than a region; it manifests in a state of mind deeply embedded in shared culture inspired by natural beauty.
In Cascadia, culture has reacted profoundly to nature. Abundant rain, ancient forests, bountiful seas, and snow-capped peaks have informed and influenced how people work, play, and worship. And culture, in its turn, has impacted environment.
Cascadia: Born From Nature showcases how three Pacific Northwest artists, each using a different medium, express the shared experience of Cascadia. In clay, paint, and fiber, each responds to living life and loving nature in this extraordinary place.
